Exploring Your Therapy Options

When it comes to mental health, everyone’s journey will look different. One-on-one therapy may not be for everyone. For some, it can feel too intense or isolating. Group therapy offers a different approach, providing a safe space for others to come together and navigate their mental health journeys together. At With, our goal is to help you toward better mental health, and group therapy is one of our most effective approaches. Let’s explore how finding your community and sharing your experiences can help you heal.

Let’s Dive Into Group Therapy

You know those late-night talks with friends? The ones that can go on for hours and make you feel like you’ve just had a good laugh or cry? A talk where you leave feeling twenty pounds lighter and like everything in the world might be okay. That’s what group therapy is like. Group therapy is a form of therapy where you regularly meet a trained therapist and others who are going through similar struggles to share your experiences and provide support.

Group therapy can be part of an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), like our sessions at With, or used in addition to individual therapy. When it comes to mental health, never underestimate the impact of talking it out. Feeling heard and understood can have a tremendous positive impact when managing your mental health.

Group Therapy FAQs

Still have questions about group therapy? We have answers. Take a look at some of our most frequently asked questions to learn more about group therapy. For any further questions, or if you’re ready to sign up for our program, contact us! We’re here to help you find the best path of care for your mental health needs.

Are there open or closed groups?

For group therapy sessions, open groups mean one can join anytime, while closed groups mean members begin together at the same time. Our group therapy sessions are close, but we are currently accepting new patients. If you’re ready to sign up for our IOP, we’re here to take your first steps toward better mental health.

How many people are in a group?

We keep our groups small, about three to five people per group. Smaller groups have less social pressure and offer members more chances to share and talk. You can also get the chance to get to know your group members better and form more meaningful connections.

Is group therapy enough?

Some people may find that group therapy alone is enough for their needs, while others may need additional support. Whether you need additional help depends on your needs and the level of therapy you require. Some people may also do individual therapy along with group therapy, while others may also need medication alongside group therapy. It all changes on a case-by-case basis, and we’ll work with you to determine what level of care is best for you.

Do I have to share?

We encourage you to, but with that said, there’s no pressure. The purpose of group therapy is to talk and share, but we understand if it takes some time to open up. You can talk when you feel ready. We make our space an open, judgment-free environment where you are welcomed and understood.

You’re Not Alone

At With, we are an IOP where patients can share their experiences, learn from others, and develop a sense of community. Our group therapy sessions are designed to help you build connections, find solutions, and give you the support you need to navigate your mental health journey. If you’re ready to rebuild your life and work towards a happier you, we’re here to help you. Take your first steps toward better mental health and contact us today to schedule your free evaluation.
